Top three fun facts about New Zealand.
Fact number one. New Zealand is the only country in the world where you will find the flightless bird the Kiwi.Fact number two. New Zealand was the first country to have its three top positions of power held simultaneously by women, Prime Minister Helen Clark, Governor General Dame Silvia Cartwright and the Chief Justice Sian Elias.
Fact number three. The west coast of new Zealand is very well known for its pounamu. Pounamu can only be found in new Zealand and is very valuable due to its rarity and its smooth dark green skin.
Hi Miko it is Jennae here. Some of these facts I went through and had a look at I didn't even know about New Zealand. I liked how you used descriptive language in your writing like "its smooth dark green skin." One thing though with your work is that it goes across the page so you need to go through and enter your work on this and your North and South post.

Thanks for choosing such interesting facts. I love how us New Zealanders call ourselves kiwi after the flightless bird (and not the fruit). A lot of people in other countries always get confused as to why we call ourselves kiwis.Our indigenous Maori people called the kiwi bird the hidden bird of Tāne, the God of the forest. Have you ever seen a kiwi bird in real life?
